Canoing the Flambeau
4i
These photos were taken while canoing
the Flambeau Flowage from the First
Slough to the First Rapids.  This is a
good half day trip traversing about 3.5
miles one way.  Once you get to the first
rapids, there is a picnic area where you
can stop and enjoy a packed lunch.

There are two eagles that nest along this
section.  During our trip, we saw one of
the eagles pick a fish out of the water
and take it to shore.  A truly memorable
moment!

The current is not strong in either
direction which means that this is an
easy trip, even if you are not an avid
canoe enthusiast.

The canoe at the cabin is 16 feet long,
includes backrests and paddles, and is
large enough to pack a lunch, fishing
gear, and any other equipment you may
need for your trip.

All you need to do to take this trip is put
the canoe in the water and go!
